| Aquair Wind
& Water Generators The Aquair 100 Wind and Water is a dual-purpose generator. At anchor or on a mooring the Aquair wind generator hangs from a halyard on the foredeck, collecting energy from the wind, generating 50 to 100 amp hours per day. Once underway, the wind blades are removed and the generator is lashed to the stern rail with a gimbal ring. The water turbine is then payed out and towed on a 100' warp, where it makes power from the motion of the boat through the water. The water generator is especially effective when the boat is running before the wind for long periods of time and the apparent wind is low. (The electrical specifications are the same as for the Ampair 100). |
| Power from Wind & Water On most boats, the engine alternator is the
primary source of power. Wind- or water-driven alternators are an excellent supplementary
power source. The best systems are based on the Aquair (combination wind and water
turbine). Complete kits, teamed with appropriate regulators. |
