| Let us talk a moment about one of the features of our food storage programs. TVP. TVP is Textured Vegetable Protein. This is a meat substitute food product made from soybeans. High in protein and fiber (both essential), in it's original form it has zero cholesterol, but even with the with the fat content of some flavored varieties the balance (fat vs. fiber) remains very much on the healthy side. Meat products can be easily contaminated with bacteria such as E. Coli and Salmonella. TVP contains absolutely no meat or meat byproducts to be contaminated. TVP products are also Kosher approved. In a sealed container it can sit on your shelf for over a year (after opening). |
